PrimeWater and Ilocos Norte Water District Recognized for Outstanding Support During Palarong Pambansa 2025

The Ferdinand E. Marcos Sports Stadium in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte awaits athletes as the province prepares to host the Palarong Pambansa 2025.
PrimeWater Ilocos Norte (PWIN) and Ilocos Norte Water District (INWD) received a plaque of recognition for their significant contributions to the success of the 10-day staging of Palarong Pambansa 2025, which brought together more than 14,000 delegates from across the country, with the award presented during the event’s Appreciation Night held at the Ilocos Norte National High School Gymnasium recently.
In anticipation of the heightened demand for clean and sufficient water supply during the national sports meet, PWIN and INWD implemented a support plan that included deploying 10 account officers to oversee 35 billeting schools, with each officer covering an average of three schools for prompt response and monitoring.
Further strengthening its support, PWIN and INWD partnered with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) to allow water extraction from designated fire hydrants for tankering purposes. Joint inspections were conducted to ensure the hydrants were accessible and fully operational ahead of the event.
Technical repairs were also completed at the Paoayfiltration facility, restoring key systems and enabling continuous service. With three water tankers on standby, PWIN and INWD delivered additional supply to high-demand sites, including Ilocos Norte National High School and several schools in Paoay.
The company also donated 250 water containers to 12 billeting schools and commissioned a new pump station in Laoag City, significantly boosting water pressure and service reliability throughout the duration of the event.
During the Palarong Pambansa Appreciation Night, PWIN and INWD received a plaque of recognition from Mr. Joel T. Torrecampo, Schools Division Superintendent and OIC-Assistant Regional Director of NCR, together with Regional Director Jocelyn DR. Andaya and 16 School Division Supervisors. A representative from the NCR delegation noted, “Hindi po kami mag-ooverall champion kung hindi ninyo po nabibigay ang basic needs namin—especially ang tubig.”
The commendation reflects PrimeWater Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Norte Water District’s commitment to public service and its vital role in supporting the success of one of the country’s largest and most prestigious youth sporting events.
